Devils River State Recreational Trail
Manitowoc County’s newest multi-purpose trail has been made possible by The Department of Natural Resources through the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund and is managed by Manitowoc County Planning and Park Commission.
The scenic trail stretches fourteen miles from Rockwood Road to the Village of Denmark. The trail can be accessed year round for walking, running, bicycling, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but should be leashed and please be respectful to others enjoying the trail.
Views from the trail are extraordinary, especially when crossing over the 38’ and 56’ steel trestle bridges, which cross the Devils River and a small tributary leading to the River.
The trail is great for avid bird watchers and nature advocates. Many different bird and wildlife species can be seen along the trail. Be sure to bring your camera and a good pair of hiking shoes. You will want to keep on hiking because there is something new and beautiful to see with every step.
