Election Information
The County Clerk’s Office provides election totals for county, state, and federal elections on election night and maintains numerous election records on file. The County Clerk also advises municipal clerks on procedures for conducting a canvass, recounts, and recall elections. We also maintain the current Wisconsin Election Commission Forms and Ballot Access Instruction Manual.

Type A Notice of Spring Election
Type A Election Notice for Spring 2026
This notice provides the following info to the public of each office to be elected and the incumbent for each; the length of the term of each office and the expiration date of the term; and the beginning date for circulating, the place and deadline for filing declarations of candidacy and nomination papers, where required, for each office listed and the date of the Spring Election.
**Note: Not all municipal or school district contests are posted or published by the County Clerk’s Office, only the municipalities and/or school districts that wish to participate in the Type A joint publication. Contact your municipal or school district clerk to find out if a particular office is up for election.
2026 Spring Election Information (Non-Partisan)
For the Spring Election, candidates can start circulating nomination papers on December 1. A candidate would have to turn all completed paperwork and nomination papers into the respective clerk by 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday in January 2026.
