Food Resources

Food Pantries & Other Food Resources
Food Pantries
Local food pantries offer food assistance options to those who qualify. In most cases, you will need to provide income and residency information to prove eligibility in order to sign up for assistance. Each organization has different criteria for participation in their program. Please call the facility that you will be attending and request information regarding their income or other guidelines, and for information on how to register for their program, prior to attending an event at their facility.
Home Delivered Meals/Mail-Order Meals
There are many companies and organizations that provide meal services on an a la carte or subscription basis. Some of these programs can be tailored to different medical needs or specialty diets. These meals are ready to “heat and eat,” and will come frozen or fresh and vacuum sealed.
Senior Dining & Community Meals
Some communities offer senior dining sites, run by the ADRC of the Lakeshore. Locations and menus can be found here. Additionally, there are some organizations that offer Senior Meals or community-wide meals during the week, generally for free or with a small donation.
Other Resources
Many grocery stores offer curbside pick up, which allows you to shop online and then pick your groceries up by driving up to the store. Additionally, Instacart allows you to have groceries delivered to you from most grocery stores.
More details about all of these resources have been compiled in a list for easy access.
This list includes contact information, location information, and specific names of organizations for the above programs.
