The Expo-Ice Center Board and the 2025 Manitowoc County Fairest of the Fair Eva Salm invite you to attend the Manitowoc County Fair!
Hello, my name is Eva Salm and I have the honor of serving as your 2025 Manitowoc County Fairest of the Fair.
I am from Valders Wisconsin and my parents are Rachel and Robert Salm. I graduated from Valders High in June of 2024. Through high school I was a very avid 4-H participant. I held many offices through the two different clubs that I was a part of and I was a member of Clarks Mills Good Sports for six years.
I am currently in my third and last year in Liberty Go-Getters and during my time, I have been President for two years, Treasurer for 2 years, Secretary for 2 years, and I am currently Vice President. 4-H has allowed for me to learn so much about the importance of the agriculture industry and the hard work that goes into it. Through 4-H I have participated in many different volunteer opportunities to help better our community. I have participated in brat frys, highway cleanup, blanket tying, and much more.
I have started my college education at Lakeland University where I am pursuing my biology major and I plan on attending UW-Madison to become a large animal veterinarian. I currently help out on my family farm where we have our goats, rabbits, and chickens that we breed and raise for showing at the Manitowoc County Fair. I also work at a calf depot part-time where I feed and care for calves before they go to another facility to be raised until they are older.
I believe that the fair is a place for people to learn, have fun, educate others, connect with their community, and exhibit and show others their hard work whether it is animals or art. A saying that I believe embodies the Manitowoc County Fair is “We rise by lifting others.” I believe that this quote embodies our fair because everyone truly works with each other to make everyone’s time at the fair more enjoyable.
This year, I hope to encourage more open class exhibitors to enter into the fair to show some of the many different talents and exhibits we have right here in Manitowoc County. From animals and art, to baking and flowers, people of all ages and interests can enjoy the fair.
Mark your calendar for the 2025 Manitowoc County Fair, August 20-24, to celebrate this year’s theme, “Let’s Rock N’ Roll” Hope to see you there!
