WIC
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program helps eligible families stay healthy and strong by supplementing nutritious foods approved by WIC, providing nutrition, meal planning, and shopping assistance from a nutritionist, and offering breastfeeding education and support from a lactation consultant.

General WIC Information
You may qualify if:
-You live in Wisconsin
-You are pregnant, breastfeeding or had a baby in the past 6 months
-You have an infant or children under the age of 5
-Your household income meets the WIC income guidelines.
Fathers, grandparents, foster parents and other eligible caregivers can apply for WIC for children 5 years and under.

Please be prepared to answer questions regarding household income and provide any needed documents or information before your first appointment.

– Canned fish (only for breastfeeding women whose infants are not receiving formula from WIC)
Exclusively breastfeeding mothers and their babies receive extra food benefits.
The Wisconsin MyWIC app has an updated list of stores who sell WIC approved foods. Store locations are also listed on the WIC Shopping Guide provided at your first appointment.

Breastfeeding Information
Our Breastfeeding Coordinator is also a Licensed Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is a mom of five whom breastfeed and pumped for her own babies. She has 17 years of experience with helping breastfeeding moms and gained her IBCLC in 2011. The goal is to help families successfully offer breastmilk to their babies throughout their breastfeeding journey.

While Pregnant

- Breastfeeding education (can be done face to face or over the phone).
- Discussion of breastfeeding concerns, challenges or questions
- Providing examples of what to expect in the first few days and weeks of having your baby.
Postpartum (after having your baby)

- Breast health support (whether you choose to breastfeed or not).
- Showing you how to position and latch your baby comfortably.
- Breast Engorgement.
- Latching difficulties.
- Sore, cracked or painful nipples.
- Oversupply of milk.
- Concerns with possible low milk production or supply.
- Clogged milk ducts/mastitis.
- Help with pumping, flange size fitting and milk storage.
- Bottle feeding
- Weight checks.
- Answering questions, concerns or information you need regarding breastfeeding and/or breastmilk.

Farmers Market
Participants are offered Farmers Market Vouchers (usually around $30 for each qualified participant) to be used at the farmers market each summer.
