Health & Wellness Programs
The ADRC provides access to several evidence-based prevention programs through partnerships with local hospitals, clinics, senior centers and fitness centers. These prevention programs reduce emergency room visits, hospitalizations and overall health care costs.
Contact any of our offices for a listing of evidence-based programs in your area. Call or visit your local ADRC office to have a conversation with an Information and Assistance Specialist who will provide options on the program that best meets the needs and desires of you or your loved ones.
Bingocize is a 10-week health promotion workshop that combines the game of bingo with exercise and health information. This is a great way to get moving, socialize, and win some fun prizes.
Participants meet twice a week for about an hour each time to play a few games of bingo and learn and engage in various exercises.
By taking part in this workshop, participants should see improvement in the following areas:
• Mobility and independence
• Cognitive functioning
• Range of motion
• Upper and lower body strength

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a six-week workshop that helps caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative.

• Make tough decisions
• Locate helpful resources

Sip & Swipe is a two-week class intended to help technology beginners learn how to use their devices with a simple app in a safe environment.
During this workshop, participants will learn a variety of beginner-friendly things, such as:
- How to turn a tablet on & off
- Swiping & searching on a tablet
- Downloading applications
- Using the most popular websites
- Setting up an email account

Stepping On is a seven-week falls prevention workshop designed for individuals who are living at home and want to stay as independent and active as possible.
Throughout this workshop, participants will learn:
• Ways to identify, remove, and avoid fall hazards in and outside the home
• Strength and balance exercises
• Safe ways to get up from a fall
• How vision, hearing, medication, and footwear can increase falls
• Strategies to safely move around the community
Stepping On brings in community experts to enhance the learning experience and improve results.

Malnutrition is a condition that can lead to muscle loss and dizziness, increasing the risk of falls. If you have two or more chronic conditions, you may be at risk of malnutrition.
Stepping Up Your Nutrition is a one-time, two-hour workshop that is free, fun and interactive. Invite a friend, family member, caregiver, or come alone and make new friends!
Stepping Up Your Nutrition teaches you:
- How nutrition affects falls
- Why muscle matters
- How to get enough protein and fluids
- What you can do to eat better and improve your health and concentration.
