What Do I Do With Garbage, Trash, and Refuse?
Landfills will accept your waste and charge a specific rate, often with a minimum fee. Curbside pickup is available in more developed areas including the cities and some villages; this is typically handled by a refuse hauling company that you or your municipality contracts. Commercial services and dumpster rental are generally available through curbside haulers. Some municipalities have designated drop off site for their local residents, their information can be found under Municipal Programs. When transporting trash, or putting it out on the curb, please make sure your loads are secure and containers are closed; this will help to prevent spills and reduce litter.
