The Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office is the protector of the living through the investigation of death.
The purpose of the Coroner’s Office of Manitowoc county is to provide professional, accurate and legally defensible investigation into deaths. The duties and responsibilities are mandated by Wisconsin Statutes (979), which encompass protecting and enhancing public safety, public health and public well-being. The Coroner and Deputy Coroners work on a professional and collaborative basis with several City, County, State, Federal and National Agencies toward a goal of promoting and providing professional death investigation for Manitowoc County.
The Coroner’s Office provides 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week. Therefore, we could be out of the office at anytime, so please call ahead if you need to contact our deputies in person.
