Cadet Post
Hello and welcome to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office’s page for our Public Safety Cadet Post!
Our Cadet Post is a new section within the Sheriff’s Office designed to provide young adults aged 14-20 with training, knowledge, and experience in a Law Enforcement and Corrections setting to see if a career in public safety is for them.
Trainings are held twice a month and last approximately 2 hours each. Trainings are also conducted by our Mentors, who are active Law Enforcement Officers and County Jail Deputies, many of whom are Certified Instructors with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board.
During meetings, training is taught on topics such as:
- Defense and Arrest Tactics
- Traffic Stops
- Basic First Aid / CPR
- Shoot / Don’t Shoot
- Jail Booking Procedures
- K-9 Demonstrations
- Professional Communications
- Constitutional Law
- And MUCH more!
If you are 14-20 years of age and are interested in a career in Law Enforcement or Corrections and would like to join our program, or know someone who may be interested, please complete this application, and turn it into the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office or email it to us.
If you have any further questions, please refer to our pamphlet, or contact the lead mentors at: MTSO Cadets, Deputy Wick, or Sgt Reetz.
Our Cadet Post is made possible through partnership with the National Public Safety Cadets (PSC) Organization. Please visit them for more information on the national PSC Organization website.
